Tareq Taylor

Tareq Taylor is a Swedish chef, restaurateur, TV personality, and cookbook author, widely loved for his warm presence and his genuine, home-inspired approach to cooking. Born in Malmö in 1969, with Palestinian, British, and Swedish heritage, his multicultural background plays a central role in his culinary creativity.

Throughout his career, Tareq has hosted several successful TV programs and runs the acclaimed restaurant Kockeriet in Malmö. He is known from shows such as Tareq Taylor’s Nordic Cookery and Trädgårdstider, where he combines food, storytelling, and a passion for Nordic ingredients.
Tareq is currently starring in a new TV program with his partner, Swedish wellness profile Sofia Ståhl, called “Tareq & Sofia’s Archipelago Dream”. The show follows the couple as they transform an old house in the Stockholm archipelago into a dream home, doing much of the work themselves. It also captures their personal life, as they navigate parenthood with their newborn while managing the challenges of the renovation, showing a realistic and inspiring look at their dreams, problem-solving, and daily life together.

Tareq and Sofia welcomed their first child together in January 2025, a daughter named Evy Lily.
